MARAIS22 – rue de Gravilliers, 75004 Paris

We were very happy in your apartment MARAIS22, and it was very central and within walking distance of Notre Dame and Pompidou Centre. Both bed and pullout couch were very comfortable with cotton sheets. There was constant hot water which we appreciated.

The disappointments were no English T.V. channel and no stoppers for sinks and bath but easily remedied. Also we were unable to hook up the shower over bath – needs to be repaired. Also the door of entrance to building needs to be adjusted as we had to ask passerbys to help us open it. After three days we met a guy who told us when you enter the entrance code you pull the door towards you first and then push hard.

It would have been helpful to have been told this initially. These are just minor complaints. We enjoyed our stay with Paris Apartments by Numbers and felt very safe etc.

Grav35 studio well located on a nice quiet street leading on to Beaubourg.

Very accessible to the metro Arts et Metiers or Rambuteau both on Beaubourg.  Only a stones throw from the Pompidou Centre and walking distance to the lively Jewish neighbourhood of which rue de Rosiers is a must for lunch;  also walking distance to Notre Dame which has a magnificent organ and  has various recitals for music lovers.  After a long slog around Paris, for those of you who like good value, the cheapest pints 2.50 euro “happy hour” and not much more after that  are to be found on Beaubourg in the Serbian bar on the first corner of Beaubourg after leaving Arts et Metiers;  a couple of doors up the best Chinese restaurant.  If you visit Sacre Coeur don’t take the metro back down but walk down rue Lepic – very atmospheric old Paris.  The metro is great and no problem getting around.

I agree with a few of Bronwen Toovey comments on the apartment. Yes the mirror on the sliding door on the bathroom has not yet been fixed and there is  also  a crack in the window making it very awkward to open. However we had no problems with noise or keys. The apartment would generally benefit from less clutter and a little more attention could be given to bathroom cleaning.

After returning to Paris after a 30 yrs lapse I found the Parisiennes very helpful and friendly.

I found all the staff very efficient in Paris Apartments by Numbers especially the Irish rep Liam.  Thanks.

Will be back to Paris again!  Gorgeous city and great to walk around.

We stayed at this apartment for a little less than a week in November 2009. The apartment was well appointed, quiet and quite pleasant. I would certainly consider staying there again.

I found this apartment to be ok. It needs a bit of tender love and care to bring it up to date, ie curtains on the windows, fix the broken glass on the sliding door in the bathroom, the shower rail in the bathroom is about to fall down, a mat in the bathtub to stop the possibility of slipping, some of the taps need a bit of maintenance and I think this apartment would be very hot in summer time. But it was a great size and far more comfortable than a single room in a hotel.

On the plus side, the bed was great, plenty of towels and apartment reasonably quiet at night, though the upstairs neighbour was pretty noisy, would love to know what he was doing up there? Good value for the money.

Location – very good close to Metro and food shops just up and around the corner and I found a really great restaurant which I visited 3 times whilst there. There are some great museums not far, however, it should be noted by anyone interested that the Picasso Museum is shut until 2012.

SCI staff fabulous. Showed me around the apartment and told me how to use everything.
Had a bit of fun with the key also, could not get door open one night for about 15 minutes and then thank goodness it worked. You have to pull door towards you after second turn of the key.

The area is a bit strange – but I work out that this is where all the handbags coming in from China are being distributed to the various stores, though I could not work out the connection with the Africans buying great bags of bags. Puzzling, but made for interesting speculation.

I would use SCI again, but not necessarily this apartment. Would try another area.

Love Paris and thanks for the whole week of fine weather.

We recently stayed for one month at this unit. It most updated than we anticipated, some malfunctions (Technician dropped by but nothing was fixed), no appliances instruction, but we’ve managed. We didn’t use the kitchen as much as we planned; smaller than the bathroom :) . Yeah, good size bathroom, I think some remodeling needed to take advantage of the closet space. Service responses to our inquires were slow or sometimes none. We have to figure out the closest Children’s Hospital in an emergency. Another point that we didn’t anticipated, we’re Asian, and the building is surrounded by Asian restaurants & groceries, not the best but convenience, though we only used a few times. And lots bag stores. Overall, quiet, great location. I think we have quiet neighbors because we can hear ourselves from the bottom of the stairs but the neighbor’s steps once a while. We would stay here again if we’re in Paris, but smoking rule needs to be expanded like no smoking within 25 feet of public places, like in America. We suffered when we stepped out of the unit. No place to hide from the downwind, so we ended up taking the Metro more, rather walk the beautiful streets of Paris.

My husband and I loved this apartment for our two week stay in Paris. It is modern, clean, quiet and in the heart of Paris on its own island. The layout is great for a small apartment and storage is ample. We loved coming home to this apartment.

We loved our apartment and its location on our recent stay in Paris. It was comfortable and soooo quiet. Such a nice retreat to have in a busy city. We found the company very professional and correct and would certainly use them again on our next trip to Paris…..Vicki and Andre

We really enjoyed this apartment- it was very modern and comfortable, and the location could not be better. It was a nice quiet place to come back to. We would highly recommend it.

We only wish the person greeting us at the apartment would have given us some instructions on how to navigate the RER into the city, as this resulted in some delays in getting there, and unfortunately made us late!

We would highly recommend this apartment!

AUTPASS04 – rue Erlanger 75016 Paris

We stayed at 2 Rue Erlanger for a month this fall. It is a lovely, clean, comfortable apartment in a real neighborhood. Twice a day, parents escort their children to school below our window. A bakery, cheese shop, butcher and wine shop are on the corner and several grocery stores are within a few blocks. Two metro lines serve the area. Our only complaint was noise from the tennant living below the apartment.

2 Rue Erlanger is an exceptionally roomy and well furnished 1 BR Parisian style apartment that actually includes a large, separate dining room.

Steps to Rue d’Auteuil, a real Parisian shopping and eating street with a twice weekly market and a large Monoprix. An easy walk to the Seine, Bois de Boulogne and Passay via Av Mozart. Metro within 2 blocks and just a few Metro stops to the heart of Paris.

Few tourists, not much English spoken, but local merchants are nice and helpful.

We are in Paris several times a year and would stay there again. Cathy

The apartment is very nice, quiet and comfortable. We spent 15 days and felt at home. There are only two recommendations to the company or the owner to be made – the first one – to fix on the wall in the bathroom a simple tool, so one can hang a shower high above his head when taking a shower, and second – to replace the bed covers in the bedroom with new ones – the old ones are torn and dirty and make bad impression at arrival. That would make the flat more convinient and atractive.
p.s. on your new internet site pictures of the apartment are mixed with pictures from another one – at least that was the case two weeks ago.

MONTOR11 – 20 rue Bachaumont, 75002 Paris

RENT THIS APARTMENT

Guest Comments

I have been meaning to send  a thank you letter and so am delighted to be given this opportunity to comment on our wonderful experience, both with the agency and with MONTOR11.
We have rented many holiday homes over the years but none has been as nice as MONTOR11. We were especially impressed by the family photos and other aspects of the apartment that made it seem as if we were staying with friends. It was beautifully furnished and the kitchen was complete with everything one could want. We often found ourselves referring to the apartment as “home” during the three weeks we were in Paris. The location could not be any better. Even those of us unable to walk far could stroll down to Les Halles, Rue de Rivoli, the Louvre, and even Notre Dame. The neighborhood was incomparable with Rue Montorgueil and all of its fascinating shops and restaurants just one block away. We are already talking of booking this apartment again for our next trip to Paris.
Everyone at SCI was very helpful on line, on the phone and in person once we were in Paris. They were especially patient while I was booking and in organizing the TV and wireless internet connection. I would definitely use SCI again.

Thanks again for a wonderful holiday in Paris.

BASTIL06 – bld. Voltaire, 75011 Paris

RENT THIS APARTMENT

Guest Comments

We had the pleasure of staying at BASTIL06 for 10 days from October 4 to October 14, 2010. It was our fifth trip to Paris and our first visit renting a flat. There were four of us in our group and the flat was large enough for us and very comfortable. The living room was one large room with a “french” feel to it and was comfortable with 2 couches and a beautiful dining table that could sit six. The dining chairs were very comfortable as well. The kitchen was good sized and had all of the amenities (microwave, oven, stove, refrigerator, freezer, and dishwasher). The larger bedroom was nice and the second bedroom was primarily an alcove with a fabric divider. However this worked fine for us. The bathroom was roomy with a tub/shower, double sink vanity and a washing machine.

The Blvd. Voltaire is a somewhat noisy busy street but the double paned windows kept the noise at bay when we wanted quiet. The large window/doors open on to a small balcony on to the Blvd. The area was nice with markets for groceries in every direction, as well as cafes and bistros close to the flat. The metro is less than a block away which makes it very convenient as well.

Staff from the management agency met us at our flat upon our arrival in the evening and set up up with the free wifi which was nice and allowed us to use our iPhone in the flat. They were very helpful and one individual came to change a lightbulb and followed up via text message to see if we needed any other assistance.

We would definitely use SCI PA Location again in the future and recommend renting a flat as it is a great way to enjoy the city.

MONTOR03 – rue du Bourg l’Abbe, 75003 Paris

RENT THIS APARTMENT

Guest Comments

We spent 3 weeks in MONTOR03 in September. The place is well equipped and convenient to the metro, within 15-20 minutes’ walking distance from the Louvre, Notre-Dame etc, close to Beaubourg. The restaurants and grovery shops on rue Montorgeuil are splendid. But it has its problems, especially for an extended stay and is basically unsuitable for more than 1 person, since the sleeping alcove is tiny, has no window and no ventilation. The balcony faces an extremely noisy intersection of 2 major avenues. Traffic to the train stations is continuous; therefore, windows will have to stay closed all night, and lack of air-conditioning is a major problem. So is lack of a landline phone. The bathroom door is only cosmetic and precludes privacy. The cooking school on the ground floor produces unpleasant odors in the stairwells; the elevator functions sporadically; and the tall dining tables are unsuitable for laptop work. But Paris will always be Paris.

We stayed in the MONTOR03 apartment in May 2010 and it was fantastic. It’s exactly like the pictures, very clean and has all the ammenities you’ll need. The location wasn’t right in the heart of things, but the metro is right around the corner (10 min ride to most of the major sights) and Notre Dame was a 10 min walk. There is a supermarket across the street which was very convenient, and lots of cafes nearby. We have already recommended this apartment to friends and will use this website again if we visit Paris again.

Happy St Patrick’s Day in Paris – send me a photo of a sparkling green Eiffel Tower!

Our header photo shows a green Pont Marie at Ile St Louis.

If  you are in Paris today, St Patrick’s Day, watch out for the greening of the Eiffel Tower. As you know, in the evenings  it sparkles on the hour, every hour for about 5 minutes. On St Patrick’s Day the sparkles will be green!

I cannot be in Paris today so I will watch it on webcam from my laptop. But if you are there, please take a photo and send it to me at liam@parisbynumbers.ie I will pick the best photo and have it as the Blog’s header image for a few days! Merci, Liam
